Activities of Distribution Management Unit

In the second phase privatization of the Power Distribution sector in the State, 51% stake in the DISCOMs were divested to M/s TPCL and 49% share of the DISCOMs are held by GRIDCO on behalf of Govt. of Odisha. Following key activities are undertaken by the Distribution Management Unit, GRIDCO

• Compliance to Statutory obligations of Residual Utilities, as per vesting order of Odisha electricity regulatory Commission (OERC).
• Compliance monitoring of OERC and Government directives.
• Performance monitoring of DISCOMs
• Scrutiny of DISCOM’s Annual Business Plan and Capex proposals.
• Monitoring of pre-vesting period arrear realization.
• Formulation of guidelines for creation of Asset Register for Govt. funded projects.
• Identification, Scrutiny & Recommendation of Govt. funded assets towards equity contribution in DISCOMs.
• Centralized Control Room operation and coordination during preparedness & response to Disasters like Cyclones & Floods etc.
